Hall of Fame rockers the Foo Fighters will be playing an exclusive concert in Horizon Venues Immediately following this Sunday’s big game. Fans can click here to subscribe.

Produced by Supersphere, and directed by legendary music video director Mark Romanek, the concert represents the evolution and convergence of physical and virtual performances.

Shot specifically for multi-format in VR and 2D, with cameras of multiple geometries positioned around the stage to give every fan a front row seat, the immersive environment also features a custom stage design, practical effects, sophisticated lighting and laser programming, and a wide array of  XR elements blended into a unified concert presentation.

From concept, through production, post-production, and delivery, Supersphere’s years of producing content for multiple deliveries in multiple geometries – VR 6DoF, 3DoF, 360, 180, and standard 2D 4K – was put to the test for this production.

“Collaborating  with a Director like Mark, for one of the world’s biggest bands on one of the world’s biggest broadcast nights, with the vision of producing simultaneously in 2D and VR,  was a massive undertaking. Building the ability to do this kind of production at this level, with these kinds of demands, is the reason we founded Supersphere” said Supersphere’s Lucas Wilson. “This technology can transcend physical boundaries to bring fans closer to the artists they love, and we’re excited for a bigger audience than ever to experience that closeness on Sunday.”

Adding to the social experience of the concert, fans can extend their football hang into the metaverse by meeting up with friends before, during, and after the show in the Horizon Venues lobby.

Those without a VR headset will also be able to watch the concert in 2D via Instagram and Facebook Watch, and it will be featured on Portal and Messenger.

The show will be broadcast at 8 PM Pacific / 11 PM EST or immediately following the conclusion of the game, whichever happens later. For more information, fans can visit the event page here.
