In the fall of 2020, Supersphere’s immersive media team went on a COVID-safe road trip from Los Angeles to three of the most important and historic music cities in the US to shoot performances with some of each locations’ most notable artists. Now, they’re ready to unveil the results in their “Three Cities Musical Tour.”
Kicking the series off in New Orleans, Supersphere worked closely with local promoters and venues to present VR users a true snapshot of the musical gumbo that is New Orleans. From Mardi Gras Indians to Cajun Swap Punk, classic New Orleans songwriters, the Queen Diva of Bounce and a performed history of New Orleans piano, Supersphere is happy to present five shows from the Crescent City’s finest.
Next up was The Music City as Supersphere pressed on to capture performances ranging from GRAMMY winning Nashville legends to the next generation of East Nashville songwriters. Filmed at iconic music venue The Station Inn, the line-up showcases the complex depth and variety of the local Nashville music scene.
And finally, Supersphere brought their tour to a close by keeping Austin weird with six nights of performances filmed live at the Mohawk venue in downtown Austin, TX. From cumbia to experimental electronic, indie to psych, and everywhere in between, Supersphere worked with local music promoters to draw up a list of local Austin acts that showcases the unique variety of the ATX music scene.
